Sample Management

This feature of LIMS supports facility and laboratory users in the requisition of samples and the return of results. The users can enter a patient's personal information, clinical information, and laboratory information. 

When a sample requisition is approved on LIMS it proceeds to the worksheet for testing. LIMS sample management is one of the core functionalities of LIMS.LIMS sample management provides accurate data of each sample, from the moment it is received in the lab and throughout its lifecycle.

Equipment integration

The LIMS software can connect to enterprise systems like the NMRS as well as laboratory equipment such as the Zebra printer, Abbot, Roche, Hologic, etc. LIMS provides continuous integration with laboratory equipment. 

This feature enables LIMS to insert control files into lab equipment to direct its functioning. This ensures more secure data management and reduces the time of data processing and reporting.

Worksheet

This LIMS feature enables laboratory users to generate worksheets for analysis in the laboratory. The worksheet automates the testing process and reduces the need for user intervention. 

The user can copy the worksheet or export the work list as CSV, PDF, or as an image; it gives a summary of all worksheets in the database

Modular Architecture

The system architecture of LIMS is modular and scaleable and was built to enable customization of its features to support laboratory users' needs. 

The LIMS restful  API is also easily customizable to interoperate with other health information systems emphasizing extensibility and ease of customization

Sample Rerouting

This LIMS feature allows test facilities to transfer samples from one PCR laboratory to another. The laboratory user can also receive samples sent from another PCR laboratory.

Dashboards and data visualization

Data collected on LIMS can be reported on, shared, analyzed, and audited. LIMS supports visualization through reports and dashboards enabling PCR laboratories to track overall laboratory performance and data captured. 

LIMS enables trend spotting and patterns in data because all relationships and metadata are captured, enabling users to work with data in context

Return of results

LIMS supports the return of results to systems that interoperate with it. The result module on LIMS enables the coordination of all result statuses on the database. 

The laboratory user may view, print, and dispatch sample results. Facilities connected to the LIMs database would be able to access sample results after the results have been dispatched.

Commodity Management

LIMS supports commodity management and provides supply chain managers access to quality, real-time data on stock availability at the PCR lab store. 

The Module of LIMS enables the laboratory user to coordinate and account for commodities or resources: used, issued, or transferred within the laboratory.
